Winter is here! That means cold weather.. and unfortunately for many dry skin.

Here are some tips to get rid of your dry and itchy skin and back to its natural glow.

  • Exfoliate your skin weekly.. If you face is really dry and flaky you can exfoliate two times a week
  • While showering keep the water warm, not hot. Hot water does not allow your skin to get the moisture it needs
  • Apply a moisturizer after you get out of the shower
  • Make sure that the moisturizer for you face includes sunscreen.. don't let the rainy days fool you sunscreen in needed year round (SPF 30)
  • Drink lots of water. Staying hydrated is good for your body and skin!

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peels are acids that are applied to the surface of the skin. The superficial layer later peels off causing your skin to regenerate and give it a smooth appearance. Chemical peels, depending on the strength, allow layers of skin to be exfoliated and allow the new skin to grow, yet again giving you that smooth appearance.

What are benefits of a Chemical Peel?

There are many benefits of chemical peels including:

-an enhanced appearance

-reducing of :

            age spots

         wrinkles

            fine lines

           freckling

            acne scars

-smooth skin

**Sun protection is highly recommended after a chemical peel!

Antioxidants can help you maintain your health in many ways. Antioxidants help keep elasticity in your skin, your hair healthy, and they even help to keep your muscles from weakening.

These antioxidants, Vitamin E, A, B, and C can help reduce your acne breakouts.

What they do:

Vitamin E: helps reduce the visible wrinkles and fine lines which can lead to you having healthier younger looking skin

Vitamin A: helps with healing, fighting acne, and tends to give skin a smooth look

Vitamin B: helps your skin to maintain that healthy balance, and tends to help reduce stress

Vitamin C: helps breakdown damage done to the skin

  1. Apply sunscreen daily. Dry skin intensifies wrinkles and can ultimately give you a washed out look. Find an Oil Free Sunscreen, preferably with an antioxidant to help repair some past sun damage, and for more protection use at least SPF 30.

Try: Refresh Green Tea Oil Free Sunscreen SPF 30

  1. Exfoliate your Skin. Get all of that dead skin off. Products such as cleansers, toners, and moisturizers can be more effective if they simply target the new skin cells right on. Dead skin gets in the way and acts as a barrier to the new skin. To keep your skin healthy and looking good, try to exfoliate at few times a week.

Try: Refresh EpiRenewal Papaya Cleanser

  1. Stay Hydrated! With the proper hydration, your skin can look younger, as well as feel great! Drinking lots of water helps your skin maintain its moisture and gives it a boost for that healthy glow.
  2. Maintain a well balanced diet. Vitamin C is fundamental for good skin. Fruits and vegetables contain natural amounts vitamin C. This particular vitamin helps breakdown the damage that has been caused by sunlight, pollution and even smoking. If you get your right amount of vitamin C, with in a couple of months one can notice that the skin can often become smoother.

Try: Refresh Anti-Wrinkle Serum

  1. Cleanse your face. Daily cleansing helps prevent blemishes and breakouts. Make sure to wash off all make up before you go to bed.

Try: Refresh Anti-Microbial Facial Cleanser

With Summer approaching, and the warm weather at a high, sunscreen is a must. Sunscreen has its advantages, and no matter what skin type you have, you should use it! Not only does sunscreen have its health advantages.... but it has anti-aging benefits as well. Sunscreen blocks out UVA and UVB radiation. UVA and UVB radiation can cause sunburns, wrinkles, and lines. Sunscreen, if used on a daily basis, is your greatest weapon in your personal battle against wrinkles. It should even be used on those cloudy days! Sunscreen also plays a part in helping prevent skin cancer. One sunburn is all it takes to damage your skin and increase your chance of getting skin cancer. So be smart and wear your SPF daily!
