Is There Such a Thing as an Acne Cure That Works?

It’s difficult living with acne. That’s the truth of the matter. Blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, acne scars, oily skin – there’s just nothing pretty about it. Acne is ugly. The real problem is it can make you feel ugly, too. It’s just not much fun looking in the mirror in the morning when you know that you’re bound to have two or three new zits on your face. Whether you are in your teen years and worried about breaking out before Prom or you are in your mid-20s and worried about breaking out before your wedding, acne is stressful, embarrassing, and out and out depressing.

So, is there a cure for your acne or are you doomed to live with it? The answer is no and no. There isn’t a cure for acne. But you aren’t doomed and you don’t have to live with it. You will want to be careful about how you choose to treat it, though or you could wind up spending a lot of money on a lot of treatments that simply don’t work. Here’s the lowdown on two of the more popular treatments that have been used up till now:

•    Accutane: Some people have gotten very real, positive results from using Accutane, but they also generally suffer some side effects. Some of the side effects can be quite harsh. In fact, it’s rare, but some patients have experienced severe depression and even thoughts of suicide. More often, side effects include dry, itchy skin, and dry nose and/or mild nosebleeds. Some patients can get irritated eyelids and eyes and others have experienced joint and muscle pain. Most of these side effects can be treated effectively.

•    Benzoyl Peroxide:  Benzoyl Peroxide is probably one of the oldest treatments for acne. It’s been around since the 1930s. It’s very popular. In fact, you can find Benzoyl Peroxide in everything from creams to gels, lotions to washes in varying strengths. It uses oxygen to help reduce those small bumps on your skin. It is also an antiseptic which helps clear away bacteria on the surface of the skin. Be careful, though, benzoyl peroxide has a bleaching action, so keep it away from clothing.

So What Can You Do To Safely Eliminate Your Acne?

The good news is there are newer, better alternatives to treat your acne. You can get rid of your acne without being left with dry skin and the itching and redness that come along with it. It is important to choose a natural skin care system that is as close to an acne cure as you can get.
An all natural acne skin care system can not only relieve your symptoms, but can actually leave your skin in better condition than before your acne problem began.

By choosing an all natural, safe and physician recommended acne skin care line, you will be giving your skin all the microbiotics it needs to fight against your acne and leave your face looking clear and refreshed. You don't need to take your chances with harsh products like Accutane or benzoyl peroxide. You can feel good about choose skin care that will improve the texture and tone of your skin without leaving it dry and flaky.

Choosing an all natural line of skin care products, such as Refresh Skin care will give you the beautiful results you are looking for. You don't have to look in the mirror and feel ugly because of the acne scars, pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads you see. Instead, you can look in the mirror and walk off smiling because of the clear, fresh beautiful skin you see smiling back at you.

Can This Be Acne—At My Age? Hormonal Acne Is For Adults Too!

Can This Be Acne-At My Age? Hormonal Acne Is For Adults Too!

When you are a teenager, you expect to have to deal with acne. It's almost a rite of passage. But what about when you are in your 20s or 30s and suddenly you start having pimples break out - everywhere?

You've tried every acne product in the drug store and nothing gets rid of your red, bumpy itchy skin and those awful breakouts. What's worse is by using the same kind of acne products that are designed to treat adolescent skin with its excess oil, now you have dry patches that make your face even more difficult to clear up. What is going on?

This type of acne is known as hormonal acne and it can be one of the toughest types of acne to treat. It can also be emotionally devastating. If you have been dealing with hormonal acne, you know that it can really be depressing. It's particularly tough because people have a difficult time understanding why "a couple of pimples" are such a big deal. You know that it's a lot more than just a couple of pimples. It's real breakouts and red blotches and acne scars and it is a big deal. It's frustrating and it's embarrassing and you just really want to find a way to get rid of it.

What is hormonal acne?

Hormonal acne typically begins in the early to mid-20s and can last for years. Women who experience hormonal acne may have been dealing with it since they were teenagers or they may not have had any real acne problems at all when they were younger. It's caused by the same hormone, androgen that was responsible for all those tears in adolescence. There are times when acne breakouts in adulthood can be a symptom of any one of many other conditions - some of which are quite serious. Its always wise to inform your doctor about your acne issues if you are also experiencing other concerns such as irregular periods, diabetes, obesity or infertility so that she can make sure you have no underlying health issues. Far more common is an acne problem that is independent of any other problems. In fact, almost 50% of women experience acne flare-ups and oily skin in the week before they menstruate.

Some women experience acne problems when they are pregnant. It is important to check with your doctor before using any type of treatment, even over-the-counter products - to be certain the ingredients are safe for the baby. Many common acne medications are absorbed through the skin and can be harmful to the developing fetus, so always check with your doctor first.

There are also many post-menopausal women who have acne problems. It is also important that this group of women check carefully before they use acne products. As we age, our skin gets drier and thinner and so harsh medications and cleansers can be particularly damaging.

How do I treat my hormonal acne?

When you are dealing with hormonal acne, you want to get the best skin care products that you can. This is not to say that the most expensive skin care products are the best products. There are products that are considered acne skin care, rather than simply acne treatments. You are much better off to find good acne skin care with all-natural ingredients that are gentle and yet effective at getting rid of the acne while leaving your skin looking clean and fresh.

Acne’s More Than Just Zits – It’s Ruining My Life!

Acne’s More Than Just Zits – It’s Ruining My Life!

If you’re dealing with acne, you probably feel like it is ruining you’re life – at least some of the time. You know, that day when the really cute girl or guy from English class was actually talking to you and some idiot noticed your latest breakout and hollered “Hey pizza face, are ya’ servin’ that for lunch?” It really doesn’t get much worse than that, does it?

Acne can really make you feel lousy about yourself.
Acne, especially severe acne, can really make it tough to feel good about yourself. Especially when people just don’t seem to get it. They think you are constantly eating junk food like potato chips and chocolate or that you don’t wash your face. The truth is, your diet does have something to do with acne but so do hormone levels, bacteria, stress and sebum, which is oil that some glands attached to the hair follicles in your skin produces. You probably wash your face as much as every other kid you know, maybe even more. (Did you know that washing your face too often can be just as bad as not washing it enough, though? If you are washing more than a couple of times a day, you might want to back it down.) You can’t do a whole lot about your hormone levels – although eating a healthy balanced diet and getting plenty of exercise will help you feeling better and a lot less stressed out and it will be really good for your skin, too.

There are treatments that really do work.
You know by now that there are about a million acne treatment products out there. You’ve probably tried most of them. How many times have you counted up the amount of money you’ve spent on acne products that don’t work? Or, if they get rid of the zits, it dries out your face so bad you’re skin is flaky.

There are some good acne skin care lines out there. It’s best to try to find one that uses natural products and ingredients. Your face has enough chemicals to deal with just walking around outside, it really doesn’t need any more. Find a line that is safe and that doesn’t test their products on animals. You can find them from manufacturers that care about the environment and are willing to commit to that in their business practices.

You really can feel better – and look great doing it!

The great news is that once you get your acne under control, the same skin care line should have products to help you remain breakout free. Before long, when you look into the mirror you won’t be able to do anything but smile. Then it will be time to make some new memories at school – like that day when you and the really cute guy or girl from English class go out – for a pizza, of course. You look over and there’s that same idiot at the table by the window – alone. It really doesn’t get much better than that, now, does it?
